Short answer, yes!
Our office is equipped to work with patients of all ages, from 1 to 101! Because we strive to maintain a calm and welcoming environment for all of our patients, we are able to see young kids for a variety of preventive and restorative treatments. Nitrous sedation is also available when needed to help with anxiety. To make our office less scary, we encourage scheduling your child as early as possible to establish care and to get them comfortable in the dental chair. Even if it means they sit on your lap while we look at their teeth, it helps build a relationship with your child and our staff and makes future appointments less daunting. Even letting them watch you get your teeth clean can help reduce that feeling of uncertainty!
As each patient is different, some children may benefit from the environment of a pediatric office as they are specifically geared towards kids and their needs and can often be less stressful than a regular practice. On a rare occasion where a child has difficulty with care in our office, we can refer them out to one of our trusted Pediatric Dental offices here in Salem.

If you’re new to our office, you can call, email, or submit an appointment request below so we can get to know you and get you scheduled. At your first appointment, we will go over your medical history, dental history, and discuss any concerns or questions you have about dental care.
Due to the extensive nature of initial exams, your first appointment might not include a dental cleaning. We want to utilize your full appointment time to go over existing and recommended treatment and to ensure you get the dental cleaning that is best suited for you.

Part of your New Patient Form pack will include an information release form. This form allows us to get your dental records and x-rays from your previous dentist to use as a reference. Although we submit the request on your behalf, this doesn’t always mean we will receive your records prior to your initial exam in our office.
For first exams, we will still recommend updating dental x-rays and periodontal charting as imaging can lose definition and quality when being sent to us. -
Calling us anytime during our business hours is the quickest way to get ahold of us. Monday through Thursday, 8:00am until 4:30pm.

Following your exam with Dr Snyder, any recommended treatment is added into your patient record. From there, we can present you a treatment plan, answer any questions, and get you scheduled for treatment. Because treatment may need to be modified or adapted during your procedure, additional fees or services may be required. When treatment planning, we try to err on the side of caution and treatment plan more rather than less to avoid surprise fees.
For extensive plans involving multiple teeth or major treatment such as crowns or bridges, we will send your treatment off to insurance for their evaluation. This is not a guarantee of payment by insurance, coverage depends on your plan maximum and benefit coverage levels as determined by your plan guidelines. Nevertheless, we will work on your behalf to ensure insurance receives all the supporting evidence required to process your treatment plan.
Once we hear back from insurance, your treatment plan is updated in our computer system with the finalized benefit amount. Your insurance may also send you a letter with the same information, however since that can often be confusing or difficult to read, you are more than welcome to reach out and discuss it with us and we can answer any questions you might have.
